A Historic Landmark Reimagined
The MET is proudly recognized as a National Historic Site and remains a cherished landmark within Winnipeg’s cultural landscape.
On January 15, 2018, The Metropolitan Entertainment Centre received its official National Historic Site designation from Parks Canada, acknowledging both the building’s historical significance and its remarkable restoration.
After sitting dormant for nearly two decades, Canad Inns acquired the property in 2007 and began an extensive restoration led by Canad Inns Founder and Chair, Leo Ledohowski. Working alongside skilled artisans, architects, contractors, and community partners, the team carefully revitalized the space while preserving its historic character and architectural beauty.
Today, The MET stands as a vibrant destination for dining, entertainment, and unforgettable events—breathing new life into one of Winnipeg’s most treasured landmarks.
